These are things that every hitter at every level should do if they want to be successful. I want to preface this video by saying these are not the only end all, be all keys to being a great hitter. There’s so much that goes into hitting. However, if you master all 7 of these keys, you’ll instantly see massive improvements at the plate with your hitting. The first absolute is a comfortable stance. There's no such thing as a perfect stance. Find a stance that is natural and comfortable for you. Every player starts a different way, but at the point of contact, they all look the same. The next absolute is getting into a good launch position. If you are balanced with your front foot slightly open, knob facing the catcher, and good length with your front arm, then you'll be in a good position to have success. The third absolute is pitch recognition and timing. You must time the fastball, but then recognize the pitch and adjust to off-speed. The fourth absolute is to get on plane with the pitch. This maximizes your chances of making contact. The fifth absolute is the contact point, where you'll want to check a few things including hitting against a firm front side, palm up/palm down, bat head below your hands, head between your feet, L-shape with your top arm, your elbows are the same distance apart, and you're on the point of your back toe. The sixth absolute of hitting is to drive through the ball and get extension. This maximizes your power and batted ball distance. The last and most important absolute is to see the ball.
